A Non-Profit Book To Send To Hospitals

This book, in a way, is for the child to teach the adult to be strong. It is so easy to forget what Nature and children can teach us, even in moments of sadness.  I wanted to write stories to fill the imagination with wonder and hope; and even if they are silly, they were written to help the parents bond with their loved ones.

Maybe the child has never been to the forest, or has never seen a fern. Maybe the child wants to travel under the sea and find a magical octopus.  Now they get to travel there with their loved ones. Also, with their own book, they could put the artwork on the walls to brighten up the room (there is also ‘coloring book’ pages at the end). In the story “Otter Mischief” there are exciting questions to be asked like, “do captains let their dogs steer the ship?” or “what is a record?” I wanted to remind those who read it that bubbles are fun, and that music and good food can be an adventure on its own.  My hope is to inspire these beautiful people with more ways to spend cherished time together. Finally, the story of “Singing Whales” not only invites the reader to believe that there are wonderful sea creatures that play together and sing through the winter, but that one might be flying overhead.

Each story was written to be universal. In doing this, I hoped to show the harmony of Nature, love, and children, without the stress of culture, religion or class.

My dream is to be able to use funds from the book sales to buy more, and to mail them to children's treatment centers throughout the United States of America, and even other countries. It would be fabulous to be able to send these books to orphanages too.  My heart is truly invested in this book. Together we can make this dream a reality.

About Singing Whales And Other Tales

Nature teaches us every day that the impossible is real, and the story of "Singing Whales and Other Tales" reflects the freedom of viewing reality differently while traveling through magical adventures of hope, change, harmony, and silliness.

This colorful children's picture book has been hand-crafted with 34-paintings. The journey begins in a springtime garden where Morning Glories grow fond of the flying blossoms that visit them. The transformations of the seasons are paralleled in the story "Butterfly Blossom" with the metamorphosis of a fuzzy caterpillar. "The Octopus Tree" takes us through an emerald forest where a tree comes to life through curiosity and travels all the way to the ocean. The cycle of a tree turning to driftwood and traveling from a rooted place in a forest to the wide blue ocean is exciting. But what if that drift wood did something magical? "Otter Mischief" can only be trouble, and these sea otters take a ride on a ship while the Captain is sleeping. The little sea otters discover music, food, bubbles, and make new friends. Just as all creatures of the ocean are beautiful and evoke mystery, "Singing Whales" captivates all who watch the Northern Lights or the ocean.  The book begins with seasons and transformations, and ends with all of the characters in each story playing in the bay together.
